Twin Eagle Terminals & Logistics has completed a 2,000-foot track expansion at its transload terminal in Big Spring, Texas. The expansion increased terminal capacity and strengthened the company's rail-served logistics infrastructure to support continued growth in energy and industrial commodity volumes. The expansion brought the terminal’s total rail footprint to more than 37,000 feet of track. The facility is served by Union Pacific Railroad and operates 24/7 with in-house switching and material handling capabilities. The additional track capacity increases throughput for pipe and oversized materials while maintaining flexibility to handle a diverse mix of commodities, Twin Eagle officials said in a press release.

Hitachi Rail has been awarded a contract to deliver advanced technologies for Sydney Metro West, a rail infrastructure project connecting greater Parramatta to the Sydney Central Business District via a new 15-mile underground metro line. As a subcontractor to the Metro Trains West Consortium — a joint venture between MTR Corp. and CRRC Corp. Ltd. — Hitachi Rail will provide central control systems and integrated communications to ensure seamless operations and enhanced passenger connectivity, Hitachi Rail officials said in a press release, which did not reveal the contract's financial value.
