Los Angeles MTA to obtain feedback on downtown regional connector

Later this month, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) will launch a series of public scoping meetings for the Regional Connector Transit Corridor Project.

The proposed line would connect the Metro Gold, Blue and Expo lines through downtown L.A., providing continuous service between the light-rail lines to improve regional mobility, minimize transfers and reduce station crowding, LACMTA said.

The scoping meetings mark the start of the draft environmental review process, under which the agency will evaluate two proposed routes: one at-grade and one underground.

During the meetings, the public can comment on the project purpose, alternatives, and potential effects of construction and operations that should be considered during the environmental review.
