For the second consecutive year, the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) has surpassed 1 million riders.
In the federal fiscal-year 2025, which ran from Oct. 1, 2024, to Sept. 30, 2025, CCJPA logged 1.14 million passengers, up 11% compared with FY2024 ridership. The increase brings the authority closer to 2019 pre-pandemic annual ridership, which was 1.8 million, CCJPA officials said in a press release.
A key factor in FY2025 ridership growth was the CCJPA's special event trains to Levi's Stadium for San Francisco 49ers games and concerts. Increased weekday ridership also suggests passengers are returning to office work, authority officials said.
The Capitol Corridor is a commuter-rail service that connects the Silicon Valley and San Jose areas to the Sacramento region.
