Nordco Inc. recently acquired J.E.R. Overhaul Inc., which rebuilds maintenance-of-way equipment. Terms weren’t disclosed.

The acquisition doubles the size of Nordco’s MOW equipment rebuilding division, the company said. J.E.R. Overhaul will continue to operate in Arcola, Ill., under its own name.

The transaction “makes it possible to grow our rebuilding services, while at the same time refocusing some of the resources in our Oak Creek [Wisconsin] plant on new equipment business,” said Nordco Chief Executive Officer Bruce Boczkiewicz in a prepared statement. “It also creates an opportunity for the two companies to share knowledge and best practices.”

Nordco, which also operates a manufacturing plant in Oshawa, Ontario, produces and rebuilds MOW equipment for the North American freight and passenger railroad industries.
