CSX's Huntington Heavy Repair Shop in West Virginia recently passed the Association of American Railroads’ (AAR) M-1003 audit with no exceptions.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the facility has attained the distinction, highlighting an unwavering dedication to safety and quality, CSX officials said in a news release.

The AAR M-1003 certification is a rigorous evaluation that ensures compliance with industry standards for quality assurance in railroad manufacturing and repair, they said.

In an AAR M-1003 audit, an exception refers to a flaw, error or deficiency such as a safety violation, improper or incomplete documentation, improper operational procedures, or issues related to quality control failure.

"From the machinists in the wheel shop to the electricians and the clerical employees who ensure we have the necessary materials, this achievement is truly a ... team effort," said Mike Langhauser, the superintendent of the Huntington shop.
