Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) recently named Charles Baker manager.
An associate with NRC's government relations firm Chambers, Conlon & Hartwell, Baker will manage daily affairs, lead the association's lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill and oversee NRC's annual conference to be held Jan. 5-9, 2005, in Bal Harbour, Fla.
Prior to Chambers, Conlon & Hartwell, he served the Surface Transportation Policy Project in Washington, D.C., where he advocated transportation reform in Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century reauthorization legislation. Baker also previously served Rep. Ben Cardin (D.-Md.) in various capacities and Deutsche Bank Securities as an investment banker.
"In addition to his work history and experience, Chuck brings some intangible qualities to this job," said NRC Chairman and Herzog Services Inc. President Rick Ebersold in an email to members. "His father has been a lawyer to construction contractors for the last 25 years."
