Norfolk Southern Railway this week released its annual "Forging a Better Tomorrow" report on the company's safety, sustainability, operations and community impact actions over the past year.
"2024 was a transformational year — one focused on safety, operational excellence, resilience and growth," the NS executive team wrote in the report's opening message.
As highlighted in the report, the Class I in 2024: • invested in its employees and communities;• expanded multimodal solutions, upgraded track infrastructure and leveraged new products, services and technologies to better serve customers; • accelerated the network to fuel long-term growth and increase market share over time; and• continued to improve the safety of its operations by engaging NS leaders and front-line workers in advancing the safety culture.
