California Gov. Jerry Brown last week reappointed Lynn Schenk to the California High-Speed Rail Authority board.
Schenk currently serves as the board's vice chairman.
As secretary of California's Business, Transportation and Housing Agency under Brown's previous tenure as governor in the 1980s, Schenk proposed the idea of a high-speed rail system in the state, according to a CHSRA press release.
