The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is inviting the public to provide feedback on proposed service and fare changes planned for 2027.
The proposed changes include adding contactless credit or debit cards to riders’ current tap-to-pay options; adding service on the new S-Line extension that's currently under construction; and increasing the base fare from $2.50 to $3 to offset increased costs. It would be the first rate hike since 2013, UTA officials said in a press release.
The authority will host a virtual public meeting on Aug. 26; the public can also submit comments by email, mail or phone. Details can be found here. Public comments will be accepted through Sept. 9.
