Rail supplier news from Wabtec, RailOne, Rainbow Concrete and Omaha Track (June 20)

Wabtec Corp. has acquired L&M Radiator Inc., a manufacturer of heavy-duty equipment radiators and heat exchangers, in a $230 million transaction. L&M’s range of products will enable Wabtec customers to increase maintenance efficiency and reduce cost, improve safety and upgrade fleet availability, Wabtec officials said in a press release. L&M will join the company as part of Wabtec’s components group.
PCM RailOne Canada Corp. and Rainbow Concrete Industries Ltd. announced a new joint venture — RailOne Rainbow Canada Corp. — that aims to deliver concrete ties and ballast-less track systems for urban transit and high-speed rail lines in Canada. RailOne has manufactured concrete ties for more than 60 years and also offers customized engineering and plant construction solutions. Rainbow has provided ready-mix concrete and precast concrete products for more than 70 years.
Omaha Track hosted Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen yesterday for a tour of three of its state-of-the-art facilities in Omaha. Pillen met with company officials as well as with representatives from Union Pacific Railroad, Nebraska Central Railroad, Twin Cities & Western Railroad, Herzog and TranSystems to discuss the need for infrastructure project funding. Founded in 1983, Omaha Track specializes in providing comprehensive rail services.
