Union Tank Car Co. (UTLX) and Procor Ltd. have announced leadership changes amid the consolidation of their operations across North America. Kate Suprenuk will serve as president of leasing and manufacturing, overseeing the companies’ manufacturing facilities. She brings over 30 years of experience at multiple companies to the role. Jeremy DeLacerda has been named president of engineering, quality and repair. He has held leadership positions at UTLX and other businesses throughout his nearly 20 years in the industry. UTLX and Procor have tapped Randy Pocrnick to be senior vice president of leasing sales and marketing. He brings extensive rail industry experience to the role, having 38 years of experience at Procor.

Camlin Rail announced a partnership with California commuter-rail system Caltrain and train builder Stadler Rail to deliver PanVue, a fully automated pantograph monitoring system, for Caltrain’s new EMU rolling stock fleet. PanVue uses images captured by trackside stereoscopic cameras to create precise 3D models, eliminating the need for manual inspections and allowing for real-time assessments, said Camlin Rail officials in a press release.

J.B. Hunt Transportation Services Inc. is recognizing its 35th year of providing intermodal service. The first intermodal load departed Chicago in February 1990 as a result of a collaboration between J.B Hunt founder Johnnie Bryan Hunt and then Santa Fe Railway (now BNSF Railway Co.) President Mike Haverty. By 2000, this service, dubbed Quantum, had expanded to become its own J.B. Hunt business unit, and by 2003, it had become the company’s largest revenue source and still is today, J.B. Hunt officials said in a press release. The company opened its first transload facility in 2021 and has since added several more locations. In 2023, J.B. Hunt and BNSF reintroduced Quantum, a joint transload service to accommodate service-sensitive highway freight needs.
