Pandrol's Under Sleeper Pads (USPs) have been approved by SNCF Reseau, France's national state-owned railway company. The approval means Pandrol's USPs meet stringent requirements for operation on the French railway network, according to a press release. To secure the approval, the product underwent technical testing. In addition, the USP's performance was tested under actual track conditions. USPs are produced from recycled rubber.
Alstom has received an order from SNCF Voyageurs for an additional 15 new-generation Avelia Horizon very high-speed trains (known in France as TGV), worth 600 million euros, according to an Alstom press release. Deliveries are expected in 2029. The order is for the quad-voltage version of the new generation of high-speed trains, which meets European traffic requirements. The Avelia Horizon train consists of two innovative short locomotives, combining high performance and compactness, and double-decker articulated cars.
AllTranstek LLC has completed its acquisition of the assets of RAS Data Services. Financial terms were not disclosed. With the acquisition, AllTranstek assumes responsibility for supporting former RAS clients with uninterrupted service, enhanced financial stability and expanded operational resources, AllTranstek officials said in a press release. AllTranstek manages more than 500,000 rail cars across North America and provides comprehensive technical and operational support to the rail equipment supply chain.
Abitibi Connex's multimodal logistics operations is now using a locomotive last used by Resolute Forest Products in Iroquois Falls, Ontario, in 2014. Located along major northern shipping routes and offering direct rail access, Abitibi Connex is a logistics hub for natural resources, agriculture and food that opened in July 2025. Rail operations at the hub will be managed by BMI Group subsidiary NPS Connex, a multimodal logistics company. Rail service was restored at the facility after extensive infrastructure repairs were completed by Ontario Northland late last year. The railroad upgraded a more than 5-mile line from Porquis Junction to Iroquois Falls.
Forte Construction Corp., a general contracting firm involved in major transit and public works projects in New York, completed its third philanthropic initiative of the inaugural year of its Mission Series with a visit to a senior center in Gravesend, Brooklyn where winter essentials were distributed to residents. The Mission Series was developed to create connections between Forte employees and the communities they serve. Each quarter, a designated project team chooses a cause to make a lasting positive impact in the community, according to a Forte press release.
