Intramotev, a technology company that builds autonomous rail cars, announced a commercial agreement with R. J. Corman Railroad Co. in which Intramotev’s TugVolt rail cars will be used in industrial switching operations on R. J. Corman's Memphis Line. A financial value of the contract was not disclosed. R. J. Corman is the latest to join Intramotev's growing roster of commercial partners; the company also has TugVolt deployments underway with Carmeuse Americas and Watco, Intramotev officials said in a press release. R. J. Corman operates 19 short lines in 11 states and serves all major North American railroads.

Innovations in Transportation Inc. (INIT) worked with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority to launch the better Breeze fare payment system. The new system makes it easier for riders to move through the transit agency via "tap and ride" using contactless credit or debit cards, mobile wallets and using the new Breeze card. Coming soon, virtual transit cards can also be stored directly on smartphones for fast, tap-and-go payment with a phone or smartwatch, according to an INIT press release. MARTA’s entire network has been upgraded with more than 1,800 station and onboard payment validators, 275 next-generation Americans with Disabilities Act accessible ticket vending machines and over 500 modern fare gates.
