The Association of American Railroads (AAR) has published the latest edition of "Railroad Ten-Year Trends," which features a variety of railroad-related data for the years 2002 to 2011. The publication also includes some preliminary data from 2012.The publication features tables and graphs that provide an economic overview of the U.S. freight-rail industry, including Class I industry performance, traffic, financial statistics, employment, plant and equipment, and operations. It also includes selected information on regional and local railroads, lists all U.S., Mexican and Canadian freight railroads, and offers profiles of rail-related organizations. A brief glossary of commonly used railroad terms is provided, as well.The online version of "Railroad Ten-Year Trends" is available at no cost to AAR members and $95 for non-members. Print editions are available for $120 for non-AAR members and $50 for members.
