The Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) Rail Corridor Agency, Ventura County Transportation Commission and Santa Barbara County Association of Governments plan to launch a new daily Amtrak Pacific Surfliner roundtrip between Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo, California, next month.
To start May 4, the additional service will boost Pacific Surfliner frequencies to six daily trips to Goleta and three daily trips to San Luis Obispo. The move will improve weekday commuter flexibility and regional connectivity between Los Angeles, Ventura County, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, LOSSAN agency officials said in a press release.
Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner service operates along a 351-mile coastal corridor connecting San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. The service offers various amenities, including comfortable seating and power outlets.
"Expanding Pacific Surfliner service helps strengthen regional mobility and provides travelers with more convenient options along the Central Coast," said Jason Jewell, the LOSSAN agency’s managing director.
