CTA to adjust service on Chicago's west side

This week, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is increasing morning and evening rush-hour service on the Forest Park and O’Hare branches of the Blue Line as part of a West Side Corridor service improvement pilot program.

In addition, CTA will eliminate weekday morning and evening rush service on the 54th/Cermak Blue Line branch due to low ridership.

The board approved the changes in March, extending an experimental period for new and improved routing that first was launched in 2006. Under the West Side program, the authority has launched its eighth rail line — the Pink Line — increased service on the Forest Park branch of the Blue Line and improved 13 bus routes.
