Progressive Railroading will host a live webcast on March 31 to recognize 55 women identified earlier this year as the 2026 Women of Influence in Rail.
With women currently representing less than 10% of the rail workforce, many rail-sector companies see this gap as an opportunity for growth and are engaged in outreach efforts to promote railroading to women who, historically, may not have considered railroading as a career. To that end, Progressive Railroading in 2025 launched the Women of Influence in Rail program to recognize women who are committed to advancing the rail industry.
Titled "Women of Influence in Rail: Celebrating Leadership, Innovation and Impact," the March 31 webcast will honor 55 female leaders who are making an impact in the areas of leadership, innovation, technology and sustainability at their companies and in the greater rail industry. The webcast also will feature a moderated panel discussion with industry leaders and an interactive audience question-and-answer session.
Scheduled as panelists are Erika Bruhnke, chief sales and growth officer at RailPros; Elizabeth Hucker, assistant vice president of sales and marketing at CPKC; Linda Laurello, chairman of Delta Railroad Services; Carol Rose, VP at STV Inc.; and Jo Strang, senior VP of safety, regulatory and environmental policy at the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association.
The webcast, which is free to attend, will begin at 12 p.m. CDT. To register, click here.
