New York & Atlantic Railway Co. (NY&A) recently appointed Mark Westerfield general superintendent to succeed Mike McGinley, who recently retired, ending a more than 30-year railroading career.
Westerfield previously held various positions at Union Pacific Railroad, Amtrak, RailTex Inc. and The Milwaukee Road, where he served as director of operations planning.
“Mark’s vast freight railroading experience will be very beneficial to both our customers and employees,” said NY&A President Fred Krebs in a prepared statement.
Owned by Anacostia & Pacific Co. Inc., the 269-mile NY&A serves New York City and Long Island, N.Y.
