Comstock to succeed Tekorius as Greenbrier CEO, president

The Greenbrier Cos. Inc. President and CEO Lorie Tekorius has chosen to retire effective Jan. 6, 2027, following the annual meeting of shareholders. Brian Comstock, Greenbrier executive vice president and president-the Americas, will immediately succeed Tekorius as president and CEO.

These actions are part of the Greenbrier board's long-term leadership succession planning process, company officials said in a press release. Tekorius' term on the board as a class III director expires at the 2027 annual shareholder meeting, and she will not be seeking reelection. The company expects Comstock to succeed Tekorius on the board.

Since joining Greenbrier in 1995, Tekorius has helped shape the company's growth, culture and operational performance while strengthening its position as a leading supplier of freight rail-car equipment and services. Prior to her promotion to CEO and president in 2022, she was president and chief operating officer, and earlier she was executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Comstock will bring more than 45 years of railroad industry experience, including nearly three decades with Greenbrier, to the CEO and presidential role. He has led Greenbrier's commercial, leasing and operating functions and currently oversees Greenbrier's operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. 

Prior to joining Greenbrier, Comstock held senior operations and commercial roles with Transco Industries, Transco Railway Products and Trinity Industries. He is on the boards of several Greenbrier affiliates and Columbia Machine Inc., a privately held provider of factory automation equipment design and manufacturing based in Vancouver, Washington.
