On April 1, former American Airlines executive Anne McNamara was elected to RailAmerica Inc.’s board of directors. She’ll serve as an independent director until the 2007 annual shareholders meeting.

For 15 years, McNamara was senior vice president and general counsel of AMR Corp. and subsidiary American Airlines until her 2003 retirement. During her 27-year American Airlines tenure, McNamara also served as vice president-personnel resources, corporate secretary and attorney.

Prior to joining American Airlines, McNamara was an associate with New York City law firm Shea & Gould.
