VIA Rail Canada Inc. recently contracted Expedia Inc. to provide its World Wide Travel Exchange (WWTE™) software, which will enable VIA Rail passengers to book hotels and car rentals on the passenger road’s Web site.
VIA Rail plans to provide customers one central location to find information on rail trips, routes, vacation guides, hotels and cars.
"This agreement with WWTE enables us to expand our business and offer more complete travel services at a fraction of the cost of developing an in-house solution," said Steve Del Bosco, vice president, marketing for VIA Rail, in a prepared statement.
