The Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) recently awarded a $665,000 contract to Security With Advanced Technology Inc. (SWAT) to supply and install ShiftWatch® Transportation Video Surveillance Systems in 92 intercity passenger-rail vehicles that operate in northern California.
The authority has been testing the surveillance system since June. SWAT expects to begin installing the systems in the fourth quarter.
A partnership between six local transit agencies in the corridor’s eight-county service area, CCJPA operates Amtrak intercity passenger-rail service.
