The Commuter Rail Coalition (CRC) has announced a national search for its next CEO.

The CRC, which represents commuter-rail agencies and operators, has brought commuter-rail leaders together around shared priorities, elevated the industry’s profile in Washington, D.C., and strengthened its ability to engage federal policymakers, coalition representatives said in a press release.

The organization’s founder and CEO KellyAnne Gallagher plans to step down in April 2027.

“The CRC is in a strong position for its next chapter," said Gallagher. "We have a clear mission, a strong foundation and a growing recognition of the essential role commuter rail plays in the nation’s transportation network.”

The next CEO will lead the CRC at an important time for the commuter-rail industry, with railroads confronting both significant challenges and opportunities related to federal investment, infrastructure, safety, operations, workforce, insurance and commuter rail's evolving role, CRC representatives said.
