Norfolk Southern Railway yesterday announced 13 recipients of its fourth annual Thoroughbred Sustainability Partner Awards, which recognize NS customers and suppliers who are leading the way in the energy efficiency, innovation and environmental stewardship.
A cross-departmental team from NS reviewed applications for measurable progress throughout 2025. Winners were selected based on their program's novelty, relevance and impact, NS officials said in a press release.
The four companies that received the Energy Efficiency Award are Cemex, Eco Material Technologies, Fastenal Co. and Wabtec Corp.
Honored with the Innovation Award are Eco-Energy Global Biofuels, J.B. Hunt, Loram Maintenance of Way, Outokumpu Stainless USA, Phillips 66, Schneider and Wabtec Corp.
Recognized with the Environmental Stewardship Award are Darling Ingredients, Eco Material Technologies, Hub Group Inc. and NARSTCO.
Over the past four years, NS has recognized 38 different companies across the three categories. Among the companies recognized, 11 have received recognition more than once, with Outokumpu, Stainless and Wabtec leading the way, NS officials said.
