Norfolk Southern Railway in 2025 donated over $18.2 million to charities across its 22-state network, supporting sustainability, safety and workforce development.
The Class I provided grants to over 385 organizations in more than 210 cities. NS employees volunteered a combined 7,200 hours at 143 organizations in 73 cities, NS officials said in a press release.
The company's charitable contributions in 2025 included a $2 million donation to the Atlanta Police Foundation's Safest City campaign; $1.6 million distributed in Safety First grants; $4.5 million distributed in grants for housing, food and job training; and a $1 million donation to Hampton Roads Community Foundation for disaster relief efforts and health-care support.
