Kawasaki Rail Car Inc. recently awarded a contract to ORTHSTAR Inc. to build, test and maintain software and hardware for a transit car simulator to be used by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
The agency will use the simulator to train operators to run the PA-5 passenger cars being built for the Port Authority Trans-Hudson by Kawasaki. The simulator will feature a full replica cab, motion system and computer-generated video imagery system.
