advertisement
Alaska Railroad Corp. recently took delivery of two bi-level dome passenger cars from Colorado Railcar Inc.
Later this month, the railroad will place the $3.4 million cars in service, enabling passengers to upgrade to first-class "GoldStar Service" on the Denali Star, which operates between Anchorage and Fairbanks.
The glass-domed cars feature a private outdoor viewing platform.
