ARCI: Rail-car orders fell, deliveries rose in Q2

Rail-car orders in second-quarter 2022 totaled 11,177 units, down from 12,957 units in the first quarter, according to data from the Railway Supply Institute's American Railway Car Institute Committee (ARCI).
A year ago, Q2 rail-car orders totaled 9,466 units.
Cars delivered in Q2 2022 rose to 9,629 units from 8,043 in Q1 and from 6,825 in Q2 2021.
Meanwhile, the rail-car backlog stood at 47,461 units on July 1, up from 46,208 on April 1 and from 37,470 on July 1, 2021.
