The Port of Long Beach (POLB) handled 928,508 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in July, marking a 1.7% year-over-year decrease from July 2025, but still registering as the second busiest July on record.

Imports declined 0.1% to 467,461 TEUs, while exports increased 14.8% to 104,843 TEUs and empty containers were down 7.4% to 356,205 TEUs, port officials said in a press release.

Through July, the port has handled 5.8 million TEUs, up 1.2% compared to the first seven months of 2025.

Port CEO Noel Hacegaba and Stephen Carmel, administrator of the U.S. Maritime Administration, appeared together in a video to announce the July cargo numbers.
