Genesee & Wyoming Inc. subsidiary Pentalver Transport Ltd. last week began work on the second phase of its container facility at Berth 7 of DP World London Gateway, the United Kingdom's deep-sea container port and logistics park on the River Thames.The second phase of the development calls for adding 40 percent of additional capacity of the Pentalver operation. In 2015, Pentalver opened the first phase, which followed an interim operation to support customers who began container operations at the new port.“Pentalver has been in constant dialogue with customers to identify their requirements and we will continue to develop our business to meet their needs at this integrated logistics facility," said Pentalver Managing Director Chris Lawrenson in a press release.The company has shown it's committed to building container facilities that complement the new terminal's operations and services for joint customers, said James Leeson, who heads Port Commercial at DP World London Gateway."These services will include loaded and empty storage, reefer and dry container maintenance and repair, transport and cargo handling," Leeson added.
