The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) last week opened two grade separations at Belmont Avenue and Central Avenue, both in Fresno.

The four-span Belmont Avenue bridge will now carry vehicular and pedestrian traffic over both Union Pacific Railroad and high-speed rail tracks, CHSRA officials said in a press release. Located in Fresno, the bridge spans more than 611 feet and is 62 feet wide. It is the third high-speed rail structure to be completed in 2025.

The CHSRA also announced the completion of the Central Avenue grade separation overpass, which spans 432 feet. Located in south Fresno, the overpass will take motor vehicles and pedestrians over BNSF Railway Co. and future high-speed rail tracks. It is the fourth high-speed rail structure completed in 2025.

The CHSRA has completed more than 60 miles of guideway, and there are more than 171 miles of track under design and construction. Of the 93 structures needed, 54 are completed, CHSRA officials said.
