The Surface Transportation Board is soliciting public comments on a draft environmental assessment (DEA) for Savage Tooele Railroad Co.'s proposed construction and operation of a rail line in Utah.

The DEA analyzes the potential environmental and historic impacts of 11 miles of new rail line that would re-establish a former branch line’s connection to Union Pacific Railroad’s Shafter Subdivision at Burmester and the Lakeview Business Park in Grantsville, STB officials said in a press release.

Comments on the DEA are due Oct. 30. The document can be found via this link.
