Paterson Grain plans to build a new unit train loading facility in Daysland, Alberta, along a Canadian Pacific line.
The modern facility, Paterson Grain's third inland export terminal in Alberta, will have a storage capacity of 55,000 metric tons. It will be designed with a loop track system, which has become a customary feature of Paterson’s newest grain terminals, company officials said in a press release.
The new facility also will feature a dual receiving area, allowing for efficient truck unloading. Such features are designed to result in quick turnaround times for off-farm deliveries, company officials said.
The facility, which will be able to handle unit trains of up to 120 cars, is expected to begin accepting grain in 2016.
