NCC Construction Sweden lands $39 million contract to build viaduct in Gothenburg

The Swedish Railway Administration’s investment division recently awarded NCC Construction Sweden a $39 million turnkey contract to construct a cargo-train viaduct in Gothenburg.

The viaduct will replace an existing bridge that extends over Vastra Hamnbanan and the E20 highway. The project comprises a 2,010-foot-long bridge, 425 feet of which will be constructed of steel; the remainder, of concrete.

Construction will begin this fall, with work scheduled for completion in March 2010.
