Nordgren joins NMB as mediator

The National Mediation Board (NMB) recently appointed Andy Nordgren a mediator. He will handle railroad and airline collective bargaining and grievance mediation cases after joining the NMB sometime this summer.
A pilot for American Eagle Airlines since 1998, Nordgren has in-depth labor relations experience, according to the NMB. He chaired the U.S. Airline Pilots Association’s negotiating committee and served as a member of the union’s international contract bargaining committee, which coordinates cross-carrier collective bargaining.
An independent federal agency established by the Railway Labor Act, the NMB governs labor-management relations for about 500 railroads and 100 airlines in the United States and U.S. territories.
