DART seeks input on 2030 transit plan
advertisement
Next month, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) plans to hold public hearings to gather feedback on a 2030 Transit System Plan and anticipated transportation problems.
The comments will help the agency update the plan, which was adopted in 1995 and extends to 2010. The revised plan will outline plans to implement more DART service through 2030.
The plan will include a Mobility Needs Assessment to analyze population and employment trends to determine potential transit system impacts. It also will examine the current travel market and potential changes, and identify necessary future travel corridors based on travel patterns and volumes.
For each corridor identified in the Mobility Needs Assessment, officials will develop alternative strategies such as new technology, service or operational strategies. Once mobility issues and alternatives are identified, DART will develop a draft 2030 Transit System Plan.
