Yesterday, RailAmerica Inc. announced its North Carolina & Virginia Railroad Co. recently implemented RAILINC's Web-based RailSync Command tool.
A transportation management system, RailSync Command is designed to help small roads report accurate and timely car movement events, and identify delayed cars.
RailAmerica plans to implement Command on 45 other regionals and short lines.
"We believe the RailSync suite of tools offers a strategic and cost-effective solution for our railroads," said Joe Conklin, RailAmerica executive vice president and chief operating officer, in a prepared statement.
RAILINC provides information technology services to North American railroads, shippers, equipment owners and suppliers, and manages e-commerce Web site Steelroads.com.
