Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) members on Oct. 10 ratified a contract with Chicago-area commuter railroad Metra.

The agreement covers union members operating the Metra-Union Pacific Lines who are represented by the Union Pacific Northern Region general committee of adjustment. The new contract provides a 3.5% general wage increase, retroactive to July 1, BLET officials said in a press release.

Members voted 60-1 in favor of ratification. The pact will cover 93 BLET members. The length of the contract was not included in the press release. BLET and Metra reached the tentative agreement on Sept. 25.
