Marmon Rail has combined its Railserve, Ameritrak and Powerhouse brands into one brand identity — Railserve. The rebrand makes it easier for customers to understand the breadth of Marmon Rail's yard services, company officials said in a press release. Under Railserve, the company offers industrial switching, material handling, transloading, track construction/maintenance and locomotive repair services.

Hitachi Rail has entered an agreement to acquire Clever Devices, a U.S.-based provider of intelligent transportation systems. The acquisition will help extend Hitachi Rail's footprint beyond rail into the wider public mobility space, Hitachi Rail officials said in a press release. Clever Devices' fleet management technology will complement Hitachi Rail's HMAX Mobility suite of solutions to maximize rail performance and extend asset life.

STV Inc. last week commemorated the opening of Sound Transit's Crosslake Connection, the world's first light-rail system to utilize a floating bridge, STV officials said in a press release. The 7-mile Crosslake Connection links Bellevue to Seattle by light rail and connects the 2 Line to the 1 Line, creating a roughly 60-mile light-rail network. STV, in a joint venture with Mott MacDonald, served as systems construction management for the Crosslake Connection project.

TekTracking LLC has been selected by MTA Long Island Railroad to deploy two programs across the commuter railroad's network: Track Inspection Management and Planning System (TIMPS) and Signal Inspection and Testing Environment (SITE). TIMPS will provide LIRR with an end-to-end digital platform for managing the full lifecycle of track inspection, while the SITE program will enable the railroad to log signal inspections and testing results. Both programs will help LIRR ensure it more precisely logs data for internal standards and federal regulation compliance, according to TekTracking.
