Bush handpicks Hawley as next Transportation Security Administration head
On Friday, President Bush announced his intention to nominate Edmund Hawley as assistant secretary of homeland security to head the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Hawley currently serves as a supply-chain technology consultant and member of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Air Traffic Services Committee. He previously held stints as vice president of transportation services for Union Pacific Railroad, and deputy assistant secretary and executive director of governmental affairs for the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Current TSA chief David Stone plans to leave the post next month.
