Fortune magazine recently named Union Pacific Corp. the most admired railroad in its rail industry list of “America’s Most Admired Companies.”
The magazine listed UP as the leader all eight rail list categories, including innovation, employee talent, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, management quality, financial soundness, long-term investment, and products and services quality. Fortune conducts a survey of industry analysts, boards members, and corporate and railroad executives to determine the rankings.
“The spotlight for this accomplishment shines directly on our 50,000 employees,” said UP President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Young in a prepared statement. “In light of unprecedented business demands, we are successfully maintaining focus to stay on track.”
