UP honored as Mode Global's rail carrier of the year

Dallas-based Mode Global last week recognized Union Pacific Railroad as the third-party logistics firm's Rail Carrier of the Year for 2025.

UP was honored as part of the Mode Global's annual Mode Carrier of the Year Awards, which the company distributes to recognize the contributions and relationships it has established with its carriers. The carrier awards are based on performance criteria such as commitment to service quality, technological capabilities, customer service excellence, volume and revenue growth with Mode Global, as well as partnership criteria such as collaboration, communication and competitive enablement, company officials said in a press release.

"2025 was another challenging year for our industry. Even so, our carrier partners continued to step up and meet the challenges head-on, delivering top notch customer service and adding value to supply chains," said Mode Global Chief Operating Officer Normand Frigon.

The other award recipients for 2025 are:
• Swift Transportation, National Truckload Carrier of the Year;
• One Nation Trans Inc., Regional Truckload Carrier of the Year;
• Old Dominion Freight Line, National LTL Carrier of the Year;
• Southeastern Freight Lines Inc., Regional LTL Carrier of the Year;
• RoadOne IntermodaLogistics, National Drayage Carrier of the Year;
• Asset Based Intermodal Inc., Regional Drayage Carrier of the Year;
• FedEx, Parcel Carrier of the Year; and
• M+R Spedag Group, International Carrier of the Year.
