Rail supplier news from STV, Hitachi Rail, A. Stucki and Waynova Group


Hitachi Rail has obtained a contract to design and deliver the rolling stock and signaling systems for a section of the Metro Line 2 in Turin, Italy (shown).

STV Inc. has been selected by the Jacksonville Port Authority to deliver engineering and design services for its new port rail expansion program. The project will improve vessel-to-rail connectivity at Talleyrand Marine Terminal and Dames Point Marine Terminal, supporting Florida’s increasing demand for aggregate imports, according to an STV press release. STV's work will include environmental coordination, phased design documents and support cost estimating and bidding. A contract value was not mentioned in the release. Meanwhile, STV also announced the promotion of Aaron Jones to vice president of media on the communications team. Jones will co-lead the communications team’s AI transformation to strengthen STV’s brand and support its long-term growth.

Hitachi Rail has obtained a contract, valued at 480 million euros, from the city of Turin, Italy, to design and deliver the rolling stock and signaling systems for the Rebaudengo–Politecnico section of the Turin Metro Line 2. In its final configuration, Line 2 will extend 17 miles and will include 31 stations, with all of its vehicles having been made in Italy. The opening of the first section is planned by 2033, Hitachi Rail officials said in a press release. Each train will be certified to accommodate 336 standing passengers, 68 seated passengers, two spaces for passengers with reduced mobility and four bicycle spaces, for a total capacity of 404 passengers.

A. Stucki Co. has launched a redesigned website. In development for more than a year, the site features the company's full portfolio of rail and infrastructure solutions for freight cars, locomotive parts and services and maintenance of way. A range of technical resources is available, including product descriptions and literature, and information about industry certifications and approvals, according to an A. Stucki press release. 

Waynova Group has established a unified international market presence by aligning four specialized rail technology companies into one for digital rail solutions. By bringing together ZEDAS (Germany), Railroad Software (United States), Raspberry Software (United Kingdom) and Automated Rail (United States), the group delivers rail-focused software and hardware solutions to operators, infrastructure managers and maintenance organizations, according to a Waynova Group press release. Existing customer relationships, contracts and support teams remain unchanged, company officials said.
