Genesis Rail Services on Sept. 18 debuted its Track Cleaner featuring a newly patented TrackSweep System at the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association conference in Indianapolis. The TrackSweep System removes debris from track structures, reduces unplanned cleanups and service interruptions between maintenance cycles and improves water runoff to protect ballast, Genesis officials said in a press release. The TrackSweep System is available for deployment across North American.
STV Inc. has hired Eric Olson as senior vice president and rail director for the firm's transportation west operating group. Olson has more than 30 years of industry experience. Previously, he has overseen major rail projects in California. He is a member of the Design-Build Institute of America, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Public Transportation Association.
