Consolidated Thompson Iron Mines Ltd. recently signed a transportation agreement with the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway Co. Inc. (QNS&L) to move iron ore concentrate.
The 261-mile short line will transport the freight about 248 miles from Labrador City, Newfoundland, to Sept-Iles, Quebec.
"This agreement will ensure long-term access to the world's largest consumers of iron ore for our future ... product," said Consolidated Thompson President and Chief Executive Officer Richard Quesnel in a prepared statement.
Owned by Iron Ore Co. of Canada, QNS&L operates a line between Labrador City and the Port of Sept-Iles.
