OmniTRAX to operate Port Muskogee Railroad

Port Muskogee in Oklahoma has named OmniTRAX Inc. as the exclusive operator of Port Muskogee Railroad.
Port and OmniTRAX officials today announced the signing of the operating agreement. The partnership is designed to enhance rail service, support industrial growth and expand multimodal access for existing and future industry in Muskogee, officials at both organization said in a press release.
OmniTRAX will manage rail operations on port-owned track to deliver customer-centric rail service, they said. Port Muskogee Railroad runs on 8 miles of track and provides direct access to Union Pacific Railroad.
The short line becomes the 30th railroad in the OmniTRAX network, and the fifth U.S. port partnership for the company.
In December 2024, the port issued a request for proposals for a five-year agreement to provide rail switching services and maintenance of port-owned rail infrastructure.
“OmniTRAX brings the expertise, experience, and national reach that align with our vision for growth,” said Kimbra Scott, the port's executive director. “With a strong U.S. rail network, close relationships with Class I railroads, and a dedicated team focused on Muskogee, this partnership enables better service, smarter freight solutions, and new opportunities for industrial expansion.”
