OmniTRAX Inc. and its affiliate railroad, the Brownsville & Rio Grande International Railway LLC (BRG), have donated $75,000 to 10 nonprofit organization in Brownsville, Texas.
The railroad collaborated with the Port of Brownsville to identify the recipients, OmniTRAX officials said in a press release. BRG operates 45 miles of tracks at the Brownsville port, where it has provided switching services for steel, agricultural products, fuel and other commodities since 1984.
The donations were made as part of OmniTRAX's network-wide Good Neighbor Program, an outreach initiative that annually provides funding for meals and essential services in the communities that OmniTRAX operates in, company officials said.
