Gulf & Ohio Railways, U.S. Rail Partners install new presidents

Gulf & Ohio Railways Inc. recently named Peter "Doc" Claussen president, according to the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association's (ASLRRA) "Views & News" newsletter.

He will oversee the operations of all the company's railroads and subsidiaries, including the Knoxville & Holston River Railroad, Lancaster & Chester Railroad, Laurinburg & Southern Railroad, Yadkin Valley Railroad and a locomotive repair shop. Claussen most recently was Gulf & Ohio's senior vice president of operations.

Meanwhile, U.S. Rail Partners Ltd. named Drew Wilson president; John Howell, general manager of the Eastern Washington Gateway Railroad and Eastern Berks Gateway Railroad; and Scott Nauer, GM of the Blackwell Northern Railroad, according to ASLRRA's newsletter. Howell plans to retire in November.
