Steel manufacturer Webco selects Port Muskogee for expansion

Webco Industries Inc. is expanding its carbon and stainless-steel tube manufacturing operation with a new location at the Port Muskogee Industrial Park in Oklahoma.

The expansion represents an investment from both the port and Webco, which is headquartered in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, port officials said in a press release. Pork Muskogee and Webco will upgrade an existing port-owned slitter facility and equipment to bring the specialized steel-processing infrastructure back into productive use, they added.

The project is expected to result in 10 new jobs within six months, with opportunities for growth; and Webco will gain access to Port Muskogee's multimodal transportation network, including the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System.

Steel accounts for 35-45% of the material moving through Pork Muskogee, officials said. Webco's expansion builds on that established connection between steel manufacturing and Port Muskogee by creating new opportunities to increase steel-related freight movement along the river system.

The port has access to Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF Railway via the Port Muskogee Railroad.
