The Women in Governance organization has recognized the Societe de transport de Montreal (STM) with the organization's GOLD Parity Certification for the agency's efforts to promote diversity and inclusion.

The certification acknowledges STM's strategies and measures to promote gender parity in management positions and help women to advance in their careers, STM officials said in a press release.

The certification recognizes the best practices of Canadian organizations that actively cultivate gender equality in the workplace, creating a pool of female talent.

Last month, STM welcomed Genevieve Bourbeau to its executive committee as executive director of customer experience and commercial activity. Bourbeau’s appointment brings the number of women on the committee to four of eight people.
